Introduction
The product is one kind of coconut powdered activated carbon for carbon rod. The production processes are accomplished by using one combination of the following steps:
1.) Carbonization: Material with carbon content is pyrolyzed at temperatures in the range of 600–900 ℃, in absence of oxygen (usually in inert atmosphere with gases like argon or nitrogen)
2.) Activation/ Oxidation: Raw material or carbonised material is exposed to oxidizing atmospheres (carbon monoxide, oxygen, or steam) at temperatures above 250℃, usually in the temperature range of 600–1200℃.
3.) Powdered: After activation, the activated carbon will be powdered to 30-80 mesh by special mills.
Applications.
The products are made from high quality raw materials like coconut shell, apricot nutshell and walnut shell, and are designedly producted by drying, charring and high temperature steam activating. Characterized by large specific surface area, strong adsorption power, high mechanical strength, and varieties of sizes, they are widely used in air purification, catalyst carrier, extraction of noble metal, solvent recovery and decolorization of medicines, especially in treatment of industrial and drinking water.
